Pupil Premium

The pupil premium grant was introduced by the present Coalition Government in April 2011 to help schools improve the attainment of disadvantaged pupils. The amount of funding each school receives depends on the number of children receiving Free School Meals and  children who are looked after. A smaller premium has also been introduced for children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces. It is for schools to decide how the pupil premium is spent.
