Frank Carroll - Chair of Governors
Frank joined the governing body when his son was a pupil.
He has over 20 years’ experience as a school governor and for the last 40 years has worked in a financial management role across a range of business sectors.
He is fully committed to use his knowledge and experience in supporting the school in all its activities, especially in fulfilling its aims of developing success for the children in their life and learning and helping every child gain their full potential.
David Deale - Parent Governor
David is the father of a son in Year 5 at JFK Primary School he has been a parent governor since 2008. David is the link governor with responsibility for Literacy and is the Vice Chair of Governors.
He considers the governing body to be essential in guiding and supporting the school and takes his responsibility very seriously. David is very passionate about his role and committed to the continual improvement of JFK.
Penny Best - Co-opted Governor
Penny has been a governor at JFK since 1999, initially as a parent governor, and more recently as a community governor. She has been a parent volunteer in Reception and Key Stage 1 in the past.
Penny worked as a Speech and Language Therapist for the NHS, working in both a management and clinical role. She worked directly with children who have difficulties in their speech, language or communication, together with their families and sometimes their schools. She brings her knowledge and experience to the role of link governor for Special Educational Needs (SEN). In addition, she also brings personal experience of seeing one of her own children who had SEN, through her school years. Her younger daughter left JFK in July 2012.
Penny has worked through and supported JFK through many changes brought in to the Educational system by Government. Currently she is link governor for Looked after Children, Chldren with English as an additional language (EAL), as well as Special Educational Needs.
Councillor Dianne Snowdon - Co-opted Governor
Dianne is the Local Authority appointed Governor at JFK with the responsibility of overseeing safeguarding and child protection matters.
As a local Councillor Dianne has represented the Washington Central Ward since 2008. She has lived in the Ward for most of her life and has five grown children and three grandchildren. Dianne is also a School Governor at Biddick Community Sports College and she is Chair of Governors at the Returners and Young Mums' Management Committee.
Mr Adams – Staff Governor
Mr Adams is a Year 6 teacher within the school and is the Key Stage 2 leader, in charge of Mathematics across the school
Peter Eagle - Parent Governor
Mr Eagle is a parent governor who has had a long association with the school and currently has two children attending John F Kennedy
Darren Keogh – Parent Governor
I am a very proud father to two daughters who attend JFK. I have been a Parent School Governor since January 2015 and I believe that the Governors play a vital role in supporting the school and, more importantly, holding the school to account.
As a parent I want nothing more than giving my children the best possible education and this is the reason my wife and I chose JFK. But I also believe we can always do better and it is my aim to facilitate that with my involvement on the board of Governors.
My current responsibilities are Behaviour Link Governor and Chair of the Complaints Committee.

Mrs Nesbitt is the School Business Manager and represents staff at the Governor's meetings
Dr Taylor - Staff Governor - (Compulsory) - Executive Head Teacher
Miss Taylor is the new school Head Teacher and leads the School Governor meetings
Miss Quinn - Co-opted Governor - Deputy Head Teacher
Miss Quinn is the school Deputy Head Teacher
